Rare Gold Quarter Repeater Pocket Watch by Pavel Buhre, circa 1900

A fine gold quarter repeating hunter cased pocket watch with enameled crest by watchmaker to the Russian Imperial Court in St. Petersburg, Pavel Buhre. The high grade hammered jeweled lever movement with white enamel dial, gold hands, Roman numerals and a subsidiary dial. The reverse applied with gold monogram AK. The cuvette signed with a Cyrillic inscription. Watch is sold as is. In working order but no guarantee on movement.  Gold watchchain not included.

2 ¼ in. (57 mm) diam.

This exceptional timepiece bears an enamel family crest and is applied with the scrolling initials AK possibly for General Alexander Pavlovich Kutepov (1882-1930). Made by the renowned St. Petersburg watchmaker, Pavel Buhre, its keyless lever, quarter repeating mechanism is rare.
