In the Romantic taste, this rare Russian silver salt which is shaped as a miniature basket is from the imperial capital of St. Petersburg from the reign of Tsar Nicholas I. The interior is gilded while the exterior is decorated with a band of roses and leaves, further enhanced with an outer floral exerted edge, the bowl is raised on a pedestal foot.
Stamped with the crossed anchor and scepter hallmark for St. Petersburg, 84 for the Russian silver standard (rubbed).
