A rustic pine trunk adorned with brass embossed panels, the front, sides and lid depicting flowers, vines, and berries, the hinged lid featuring a large Russian imperial eagle flanked by floral panels, the front, a church or monastery with onion domes, fitted with side handles, on two lion paw feet.   The trunk was probably created in a monastery outside of Moscow. 

A rare example of Russian provincial brass furniture from the Romanov era.
