Russian Catherine the Great Silver Charka or Vodka Cup, Moscow, 1783

A rare treasure from the reign of Russian Empress Catherine the Great, this lovely 18th century silver charka or vodka cup was made in the ancient capital of Moscow. Decorated with lightly engraved swags of ribbons and foliage typical of the period and fitted with scroll handle.

Stamped on the base and handle with the Cyrillic initials of Moscow assaymaster Stepan Belkin, the base with initials of Alderman Fedor Petrov.
