Large Russian Silver Sugar or Sweetmeat Bowl, Moscow, 1896

From the Romanov era, period of Tsar Nicholas II, cicular and parcel gilt, the exterior finely engraved with a panel of flowers including a lilly of the valley, between geometric motifs, the center with a shield engraved in Russian, on a gilded and beaded pedestal base, with a swing handle and gilded interior.

By Vasily Ivanov, Moscow 1896, hallmarked on base twice, and on handle.

5 in. (12.7 cm.) diam; 2 3/4 in. (7 cm.) high.
