French Gun Metal Coronet/Crown Watch Pin, 19th Century

Made for a French baron or count, a Napoleon III gold topped openwork gun metal pin designed as a 7 pointed coronet, with gold accents, meant to suspend a pendant watch. Pendant watch not included.

French, 1870s, probably Franco-Prussian War period.

2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm) long; crown 1 3/8 in. (3.5 cm) across.
