Gold Diamond Cameo Man’s Ring, 1870s
Striking yellow gold ring set with a finely carved oval agate cameo depicting Zeus, god of thunder, his head entwined with polished laurel leaves. Applied on each shoulder and top of shank with three rose gold laurel leaves centering a cushion shaped old mine-cut diamond weighing approx. 1/2 carat each.
Circa 1870.
Ring size 13. Mount measures 1 x 1 in. (2.5 x 2.5 cm.), the cameo: 11.9 x 6.4 mm.
