French Miniature Gold and Enamel Medal, Late 19th Century
A white enamel star, the front inscribed on black enamel, République Francaise, surmounted by three rose-cut diamonds, the reverse reads Mérite Agricole, 1883. Attached to a later removeable gold ring to accommodate a neck chain. May be worn as a necklace or as a fob on a watch chain. Chain not included.
French hallmarks on ring.
1 in. (2.5 cm.) long, including inner ring; 1 3/8 (3.5 cm) long, with attachment.
