Rare French Enameled Gold M Pin, 19th century
From the Second Empire, period of Napoleon III, the oval 18k gold pin enclosing the letter M in script, below the original domed glass, within a royal blue guilloché enamelled border decorated with gold piqué dots in keeping with the period. The reverse is fitted with a glass.
French, second empire, 1852-70, hallmarked.
1 in. (2.5 cm) long; 7/8 in. (2.2 cm) wide; ¼ in. (.6 cm) high.
