First Kievan Artel Gold Cigarette Case Fabergé Suppliers, circa 1900

Decorated with alternating reeded bands and fitted with a cabochon sapphire thumbpiece. Although slightly smaller in size than the average case, it is heavier in weight. The First Kievan Artel produced items for the House of Fabergé in Kiev and was located at the same address.
By the First Kievan Artel, Kiev, circa 1908, stamped with the maker’s mark in Cyrillic, and the kokosnik (Russian headdress) for Kiev, 1908-17.
3 1/8 x 2 3/8 x 7/16 in. (7.9 x 6 x 1.1 cm). Sold together with a custom suede travel pouch from Italy.
