Frequently Asked Questions
Do you buy jewelry?
Yes. We are always interested in buying from the public. Unlike the long wait time, uncertain outcome and hefty fees auction houses charge sellers, the price we offer as private dealers is immediate and net to you. We buy both individual pieces or collections at competitive prices.
What kind of jewelry/silver and objets d’art do you buy?
While we specialize in Russian and French jewels and silver, mostly vintage, really we buy what we like as long as it’s beautiful and the price makes sense to us. We’ve bought items by Russian makers including Fabergé, but also love French, English, Italian and American jewelry and silver and interesting objects of high quality. We sometimes, but not often, deal in objects outside of jewelry and silver. If you have something you’re interested in selling, the best thing to do is email us with photos. If we aren’t interested, we can sometimes recommend someone who is.
May I call or text you to discuss what I’d like to sell?
Yes: (917) 319-5736. Please leave a message if we don’t answer.
Do you sell type of jewelry?
Perhaps. We hope you’ll have a look here at what we sell to get an idea of our inventory.
I’m looking for a . Do you have that?
We may, just have a look at our website, and email us if you still don’t see it, as not all is posted.
How can I find out more about Imperial Russian Jewelry?
That’s our specialty. I try to cover this topic frequently in our blog. We also have a podcast which was featured in Jewelry Journey, hosted by the marvelous Sharon Berman. For more extensive information, our book Beyond Fabergé: Imperial Russian Jewelry will be published in October 2020 and may be pre-ordered here on Amazon.
Do you speak/read Russian or French?
I have not yet mastered Russian, but my husband Dave who is a professor of Russian history is fluent. We both speak French, each having a Parisian mother and European background.
Do you give lectures?
Yes, and increasingly virtual ones. For more information, please click here.
I’d rather experience first-hand rare jewels and treasures, rather than acquire them. What do you suggest?
